EXPOSURE: 16 X 240 sec. (Total: 64 min.)
CALIBRATION FRAMES: 20 darks, 20 flats
AQUISITION & PROCESSING: MaxIm DL, Images Plus, Photoshop CS3
COMMENTS: The Veil Nebula, also known as the Cygnus Loop or the Witch's Broom Nebula, is a large, relatively faint supernova remnant. The source supernova exploded some 5,000 to 8,000 years ago, and the remnants have since expanded to cover a large area of over 3 degrees. The image above covers the eastern part of the DSO.
